Hello! Welcome to Take It Home, Honey! Thank you for stopping by. Our hope is that you will find inspiration from our collaboration; whether it is finding an item that you just cannot live without :-) or uplifting words to help you make it through a difficult day.
The inspiration for Take It Home, Honey came from my mother, Alice, and my grandparents, Novak and Jean. This blog is dedicated to them.
My mother was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed quilting, making porcelain baby dolls, embroidery, sewing, and most of all music. She played several instruments, mostly the guitar and the fiddle. She wrote songs and sang them beautifully. She loved her family with all her heart and taught her children about Jesus and His love. You will find a culmination of all these things here.
My grandparents were beekeepers. Awww yes, honey! When we were kids, we got to work in the honey house, running the decapping machine, loading the extractor, and getting stung occasionally. My grandmother would pay us a nickel for every jar we labeled. We loved being involved in their business. I wish I would have learned more about beekeeping and brought that knowledge into my adult life, but you do not know what you have until you no longer have it.
Just a little insight about how I came up with the name Take It Home, Honey. I’m sure many of you have heard the line “take it away” or “take it home” with a group of musicians, instructing one of the players to finish the song or take their time in the spotlight. It also comes from a place of love and encouragement as in “take it to heart”. Then, of course, our beloved honey had to be included.
Thus the name “Take It Home, Honey!”
